I flew back to Penang on 5 April to join my parents to Xi'an and Henan. Shanghai has 30yr history, Beijing has 300yr history while Xi'an has 3000yr history since the old kingdom started there (known as Chang'an). Having said that, the Teracotta Warriors are the main attractions to me. It's amazing and breath-taking to actually be physically there taking in the air filled with the smell of clay.
It wasn't as scenic as my Jiu Zhai Gou-Huang Long trip in 2006 but I made the best of it by looking from a different perspective, esp on simple things. Misty, cloudy, rainy and chilly were part of the trip with only a day or two of sunshine!
Electric train in Guangzhou airport. We were rushing as we arrived late from Penang. Mayhem was the word I could use with 6 persons from the group missing and the tour leader had to do what she was supposed to do. This train was just sitting there while we had to run from international terminal to domestic. Poor uncle who was 82 years' old could only managed at a much slower pace! We left the airport to Xianyang Airport in Xi'an without our luggages and the 7 persons (of the 26).
